PlayerTrace puts live concurrent-player counts for the games you follow on your home screen and lock screen. It is free. There is no account, nothing to sign in to, and nothing to buy.

Add a widget

1. Touch and hold an empty part of your home screen, then tap Edit and Add Widget.
2. Search for PlayerTrace. Searching for a widget's own name finds nothing, because the gallery only matches app names.
3. Choose Players to follow one game, or Movers to see the games with the biggest weekly swing.

Change the game a widget shows

Touch and hold the Players widget, choose Edit Widget, and pick another experience. You can search by name, ticker or universe id.

Why a widget shows an older number

iOS decides when widgets refresh, usually somewhere between fifteen minutes and an hour, so a widget can trail the live count. When the network drops, a widget keeps its last reading rather than showing an error. Open the app for the latest figure.
